Winter discounts traditionally start from the second week of January and will last until the last working day of February.
As such, shops will remain open on Sunday 16 January with recommended opening times from 11:00 to 18:00, while supermarkets will be open from 11:00 to 20:00.
Supermarket Sklavenitis, at the same time, will remain closed, this is the policy of the management and trade union of this retail chain
With regards to the pay of staff on Sunday, the legislation establishes that employers are required to pay the appropriate hourly wage for the work provided, with a surcharge of 75%.

Open shops and supermarkets on 7 Sundays during 2022.
In 2022, shops will be open on a total of 7 Sundays, namely, as provided:
On the first Sunday at the start of each regular discount period. If a public holiday “falls out”, then the opportunity is transferred to the following Sunday.
On the two Sundays before Christmas On Palm Sunday On the last Sunday of each year Two Sundays during the discount periods.
Supermarkets set their own policy on Sundays and determine whether stores will be open.
