A thick fog covered Athens, and users of social networks did not hesitate to upload unique images of the city, which suddenly became similar to London, on the Internet.
In the opinion of some “romantic”, and according to others – “eerie”, the landscape created a thick fog that covered most of Attica at night. The event was so intense that it caused problems at Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport, which were observed on Friday evening due to heavy fog. Several flights to Athens changed course and were forced to land in Thessaloniki and Heraklion, according to ERT.
Earlier, an Aegean plane flying from Zurich to Athens landed in Thessaloniki for the same reason. Both flights arrived at their destinations with a slight delay. A spokesman for Athens International Airport told iefimerida.gr that arrivals and departures are currently operating normally on Saturday 6 November.
