A fire that destroyed a huge patch of pine forest and homes northwest of the Greek capital on Friday afternoon was largely brought under control.
Firefighters continue to be on duty, monitoring hot spots and possible outbreaks, especially in the areas of Agia Triada, Kantili and Kastanava.
A fire near the village of Viliya, about 60 kilometers from Athens, broke out on Monday in one of hundreds of wildfires that occurred throughout Greece in August.
