Against the background of the removal of some restrictions on coronavirus domestically, the US authorities want to allow entry only to foreigners vaccinated against COVID-19.
Measures are currently being developed according to which incoming foreigners must have confirmation of full vaccination against coronavirus. At the same time, it is planned to simultaneously remove restrictions on the entry of their citizens for a number of countries, Reuters reports, citing information from the White House. The plan being developed will be implemented in stages.
US President Joe Biden notes the continuation of the “pandemic of the unvaccinated”, calling the new wave of coronavirus in the country a tragedy. He noted that in states with low vaccination rates, the number of new infections is 10-20 times higher. Anthony Fauci, head of the US National Institute of Allergic and Infectious Diseases, is not optimistic either. He admits that the growth of people infected with coronavirus in the country will increase.
