Easter rentals skyrocket to € 6,000 per night

The latest villas available on the Athenian Riviera for three days of Easter are rented out at prices ranging from 1,000 euros and even up to a dizzying sum of 6,000 euros per night.

For days, there has been a huge demand for luxury rental homes in the coastal areas of Attica in groups that, under normal circumstances, would celebrate Easter away from the capital. And now they are preparing to celebrate it a few kilometers from the center of the capital, causing the authorities to worry about the parties that will take place in the coming days.

Last week’s decision – not to allow travel outside the prefecture unless there was a real reason for doing so – prompted those planning to relax outside the home to look for other options. The most attractive alternative turned out to be the territory of the Attica metropolitan area.

Thus, hundreds of luxury homes in areas such as Palea Fokea, Kavouri, Anavyssos, Lagonissi and Saronida were rented in just a few days, and their owners saw a unique opportunity to rent them out at the maximum price through Airbnb and other similar websites.

A search by the author of the post on the site on Friday night showed that several villas remained unoccupied, but their prices remain staggering: the owners are asking four-figure amounts for each night. On the contrary, the apartments and rooms in these areas are of little interest, as it seems that it is large groups that are interested in the place to party and relax in the coastal areas of Attica. In short, if someone wants to spend three days of Easter on the Athenian Riviera but is not interested in luxury and pool or does not need a lot of space, they can still rent an apartment for just over € 100 per night.

The police, however, are on their guard, as many gatherings in isolated Attica villas are believed to turn into violent crown parties with dozens of people each. For this reason, checks in suburban southern areas will be more intense on weekends, while social media scans will be conducted to identify any online party invitations.

Let us remind you that on Easter Sunday there is an opportunity to gather two families of up to nine people, and if the Easter holiday is held outdoors, up to 12 people can attend. The trip should be carried out by sending an SMS message with a code 6 to 13033, while a recommendation was given to conduct a self-test for those who are going to a party.
