An impressive waterspout was recorded in the Gulf of Toroneos (Chalkidiki). The natural phenomenon was formed due to weather cataclysms, cyclone “Boris”, which arrived in Greece from Europe.
As reported by the SKAI TV channel, the residents filmed the spectacular spectacle on their mobile phones. As experts note, such a phenomenon is recorded quite often in Greece, and it occurs depending on weather conditions and the time of year. On average, Greece experiences about 15-20 waterspouts per year. The greatest number of such phenomena occur in the summer and autumn months, when the water and air temperatures are most favorable for their formation.
As a result of heavy rainfall yesterday afternoon in the Kassandra area, roads were flooded, as well as the open public market (Laiki).
