The weather today, Sunday, looks set to have two faces, with clear skies initially forecast and local rainfall expected towards midday and in the afternoon, mostly in the form of isolated storms in central and northern continental Greece.
According to meteorologists, northerly winds of 3 to 4 points and in some places up to 5 points on the Beaufort scale are expected, and on the southern coast – westerly winds.
In the central and northern regions, temperatures will drop slightly. The bad weather will reach the northern part of mainland Greece and the Ionian Islands. The air temperature will fluctuate between +35°C and +36°C, and in some places +37°C. In the rest of the continent – from +38°C to +39°C and, possibly, again up to +40°C. In the eastern part of the Aegean Sea, the Dodecanese and Crete – from +35°C to +36°C.
ATTICA
Weather: Generally clear, with occasional cloudiness at midday and in the afternoon, so local rain is possible in the north of the region.
Wind: variable from 3 to 4 points on the Beaufort scale.
Air temperature: from +23 to +39-40°C. In the northern part it is a maximum of 2-3 degrees lower.
THESSALONIKI
Weather: Partly cloudy in the afternoon, turning cloudy. Local rain and storms in the mountains.
Wind: north/northwest 4 (and in the Thermaikos Gulf up to 5) points on the Beaufort scale.
Air temperature: from +23°С to +35°С.
