On 06.07.24, Deputy Finance Minister Nikos Papathanasis reported in an interview with “Παραπολιτικά” that more than 30 thousand new housing loans had been issued under the “My Home 2” program.
In particular, the Deputy Minister stated that the relevant negotiations with partners (including “My Home 2”, “Σπίτι Μου 2”) are ongoing. According to him, it would be frivolous and inappropriate to talk about final amounts and schedules now. However, the importance that the government attaches to this huge issue, especially for young couples and vulnerable families, is confirmed by the fact that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis himself is leading the consultations, he noted.
He stated that the government's goal is, on the one hand, to provide significantly more resources from the Recovery Fund compared to the previous program, and on the other hand, to achieve an expansion of the number of beneficiaries by providing cheap loans: 30,000 and more for citizens aged 29 to 50.
