The chief scientist at the World Health Organization has warned against the use of coronavirus vaccines from various manufacturers.
Speaking at an online briefing on July 12, Soumya Swaminathan, WHO’s Chief Scientist, urged authorities in all countries not to use or mix Covid-19 vaccines from different manufacturers, Reuters reports, calling this approach a “dangerous trend”:
This is a dangerous trend. We are in an area of lack of data and evidence when it comes to mixing (vaccines at different stages of vaccination). Countries will be in chaos if citizens begin to decide when and who will take the second, third and fourth doses.
WHO warns that there is not enough real, scientifically proven data on the effects on the human body of the use of such a “cocktail”.
