In the resort town of Taba in Egypt, located 220 km from the Gaza Strip, a rocket hit a medical facility and injured six people.
The missile was fired during hostilities on the morning of October 27, reports Reuters and Egyptian media. So far no one has claimed responsibility for the attack on the Egyptian city. The Israeli military said it was aware of the incident outside its borders.
According to media reports, a residential building intended for employees of the administration of a medical institution was hit by a missile attack. According to AlQahera News and Al-Bayan newspaper, the explosion was caused by a falling rocket and is related to the war between Israel and Gaza, but it is unclear whether it was accidental or deliberate.
Security forces are at the scene. An investigation is underway to determine where the missile came from.
Taba is a popular place among tourists. It lies on the Egyptian border with the Israeli Red Sea port of Eilat, a three-hour drive from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
