Cyclone Daniel ripped through the villages of Louvros, Ypsilon and Vassilaki, causing great damage to olive and other tree species.
Heavy rain fell in Elijah yesterday afternoon, accompanied by massive hail. “White snow” covered the fields with agricultural crops, which became a big problem for the harvest in Elijah.
Speaking to ilialive.gr, Andreas Stamos, the president of the local community of Vasilaki, said that the hail caused problems. Killed olives. Heavy rain and hail literally peeled off the crowns of fruitful trees, and the olive harvest now lies on the ground in a layer. Trees also fell in the villages, and cases of pumping water from flooded buildings were recorded.
