Those Athenians who, for whatever reason, remained in the capital during the three days of the Holy Spirit, flocked en masse to the city’s beaches.
Summer has obviously arrived, and many citizens took the opportunity to enjoy the sun and swim in the sea. Today the thermometer has risen to +30°C, and the beaches are filled with vacationers. At the popular beaches of Alimos and Flisvos, reporters found “an influx of people, young and old.”
The weather today was excellent, except for a sudden, out of nowhere, drizzling rain. But he did not discourage citizens from spending a day on the beach. Recall that almost half of the residents will spend holidays in the city this summer. They simply do not have the opportunity to pay for the more expensive tours.
As Athens News previously wrote, according to the Consumer Goods Retail Research Institute, this year every second Greek will not go on vacation. At the same time, it is significant that 4 out of 10 people who plan to go on vacation this summer will cut their spending by more than 50%.
