In northern Cambodia, 72-year-old farmer Luan Nam fell into a crocodile enclosure and was mauled to death.
The incident occurred on Friday near the city of Siem Reap. A man who has been breeding crocodiles all his life wanted to get one of the egg-laying predators out of the cage, tells Air Force. However, he grabbed the farmer by the stick and literally pulled him inside. According to the police, about 40 animals attacked the man – they got him dead, with numerous bites and without one arm. “All the crocodiles jumped on him and tormented him until he died,” police chief Mei Savri said.
Crocodiles in the southeast Asian country are bred for their eggs, skin and meat. The victim was the president of a local association of crocodile farmers. The work is dangerous, requiring courage and skill – the reaction of predators is lightning fast. In 2019, a 2-year-old girl was killed and eaten by crocodiles at a similar farm in an area close to the world-famous temple of Angkor Wat.
