A huge batch of cocaine was found right in a supermarket in the Polish capital. The drugs were packed in boxes of bananas.
The Polish police reported on Twitter about the seizure of 160 kg of drugs in the supermarkets of the popular retail chain. The value of the discovered cocaine exceeds $ 8 million. According to RMF 24, the police, summoned by the store employees, found several kilograms of it in a supermarket in the capital, and the rest in the Mazowieckie and Lodz Voivodeships.
According to APE-MPE, employees saw suspicious packages among the bananas, which later turned out to be packages of drugs. Reuters reports: “They immediately notified the police, who confiscated the food and launched an investigation.” The drugs were later discovered along the chain in other retail outlets.
According to the Polish news agency PAP, the first packages were found in a supermarket located in the center of the Polish capital, while the rest were found in other stores in the capital and in outlets in the surrounding areas.
Drugs were shipped to Poland from South America. Only part of a large batch got into supermarkets. 120 kilograms of cocaine were found in a warehouse in the town of Rawa Mazowiecka.
