As a sign of gratitude for the hospitality, refugees from Ukraine, as a symbolic gesture, removed the garbage from the city beach in Thessaloniki.
Ukrainians living in Greece and refugees from the war zone cleared part of the beach in Thessaloniki as a symbolic “thank you” for their solidarity. According to the ERT report, after cleaning part of the beach, another action is to be taken regarding the cleaning of the forest Sheikh Su (Σέιχ Σου), writes lifo.gr.
Oksana, together with her 7-year-old son, collected garbage in Kellarios Bay. They arrived in our country from Ukraine on March 18 and thus wanted to thank the Greeks for their hospitality. The action is organized by the Department of Civil Protection of the Municipality of Thessaloniki.
On May 20, an anti-war action was organized in the city theater in order to collect humanitarian aid for refugees from Ukraine.
