From May 1 to September 1, as announced by the Greek authorities, all restrictions on the entry of tourists, including those from Russia, will be lifted.
The dates for this decision have been officially announced by the Greek Ministry of Health. In accordance with the rules, after May 1, tourists do not need to take a PCR or antigen test before traveling and undergo an express test at the airport after arrival. This applies to both vaccinated and unvaccinated citizens. Tourists will not be required to wear masks either on the street or in public places.
According to Greek Health Minister Thanos Pleuris, this easing is a temporary measure, while it will be in effect from May 1 to September 1, 2022. In autumn, taking into account the epidemiological situation, the rules will be revised by experts.
Another innovation, which was previously reported and which is reported by GreekReporter, – From May 1 to August 31, the requirement for tourists and local residents to present certificates of vaccination or having suffered COVID-19 is canceled. Now this has to be done at the entrance to the interior of restaurants, bars and other catering establishments.
In the meantime, as our publication reported, with a face mask in all rooms and at a distance of 1.5 meters between people, we will celebrate Easter for another year, according to the “Measures for emergency protection against Covid-19” published in the Government Gazette. These regulations will regulate our lives until Sunday May 1st.
