Strong tremors were felt last night, April 13, in Crete, southwest of Heraklion.
The earthquake was recorded at 22:35 Greek time. The epicenter of seismic activity was located in the sea area, at a distance of 23 km from Kalon Limenon (Καλών Λιμένων), in a southwestern direction from Heraklion, at a distance of 369 km southeast of Athens.
According to the initial measurements of the Institute of Geodynamics of the National Observatory of Athens, the magnitude of the tremors was 4.5 on the Richter scale, the final revised measurements determined the magnitude of the earthquake at 4.7 on the Richter scale.
Earthquake data are provided by the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Institute using an automated computer system, without the participation of a seismologist, and are constantly updated.
