According to the Daily Mail, while the Boris Johnson administration intends to prepare vaccination passports by May 17 so that Britons can vacation in Greece and other countries abroad, many have been rather lukewarm about the idea of going anywhere this year.
A government source told the Daily Mail that vaccination passports, whether digital or printed, will be ready in May for Britons traveling on vacation to countries that require such certificates. The vaccination campaign in the country is progressing at a very fast pace, and so far more than 33 million people have already received the first dose, and 10 million have both.
Greece, according to the British newspaper, is ready to receive British tourists, and Spain and Portugal will open their borders a little later – in June. However, according to a MailOnline poll released today, 55% of Britons want to extend the restrictions on unnecessary travel abroad in 2022, and 43% said they do not plan to go on vacation this year. Only 15% said they hoped to go on holiday abroad.
According to the Daily Mail, more than 20 other countries, including Cyprus, Spain, Portugal, Croatia and Turkey, have “hinted” that they will apply to formally impose a “vaccination certificate” requirement for travelers upon arrival in the country.
