The scenario considered by the government provides for the issuance of a coupon for 100 euros on the eve of Easter to the most vulnerable categories of the population.
Something like a Christmas bonus is being considered by the Greek government for Easter for certain vulnerable groups of citizens. The Christmas model provided a “gift” to more than 600,000 low-income retirees, while KEA (EEE) recipients received double the allowance. Health workers also received financial support.
Currently, the authorities are deciding the question: to whom and how much to give out for Easter. The focus is on supporting those who are most in need and therefore have serious problems due to inflation. The scenario under consideration provides that the most vulnerable groups of the population will be issued a coupon for 100 euros.
The benefit will be awarded to beneficiaries based on their income and assets criteria, as is usually done in such cases. However, the manner in which it is provided is not yet clear. So far, it is not known whether the assistance will be one-time or it will need to be repeated – for example, once a month – during the inflationary crisis.
