Check Lottery: €50,000 prize

Large draws in the lottery established by the State and Tax Inspectorate start at the end of the month, with monthly cash prizes up to 50,000 euros.

The draws kick off in February with cash prizes of up to €50,000 and an annual super draw where 12 lucky taxpayers win €100,000 each. According to the decision of the Independent State Revenue Authority, 12 monthly drawings will be held every year and once every 12 months.

To participate in each monthly draw, transactions made using a card or other electronic means of payment to purchase goods or receive services in the previous month are taken into account. According to the decision:

1. In each monthly draw, 556 lucky winners are selected as follows:

1 will win a cash prize of €50,000. 5 people will win a cash prize of 20,000 euros. 50 will receive a cash prize of 5,000 euros. 500 people will win prizes of 1,000 euros.

In the last ten days of December, a big draw will be held, in which all “lottery tickets” will take part, which are automatically “collected” by each citizen when paying with a bank card or by bank transfer, including when shopping on the Internet.

The following rules are noted in this draw: twelve lucky winners win a cash prize of 100,000 euros, while others receive 1,000 euros. The number of winners is determined by the total amount of money that may not have been available during previous monthly draws. The first annual draw will feature, in total, all lottery “tickets” collected by each citizen in the eleven monthly draws held between February 2022 and December 2022.

2. For every euro spent with a card or other electronic means of payment, 1 “lottery ticket” is credited. In the event that the amount exceeds 30%, 50% or 70% of monthly spending, the amount of lottery tickets doubles, triples or quadruples, respectively.

3. Citizens with annual individual income subject to taxation and exempt from filing a declaration, as well as those who are not required to file an income declaration, are awarded double “lottery tickets” for every euro they spend.

4. Lottery tickets for each participant with dependents (minor children), as indicated in the joint or separate declaration of income of the parents, are increased by 50%.

5. Citizens with an annual income equal to or greater than 60,000 euros receive 1 “lottery ticket” for every euro spent, without the benefits indicated in the paragraphs above.

6. Citizens who win a prize of at least 5,000 euros in the monthly lottery within one year are exempted from receiving a prize in the remaining monthly lottery for the same calendar year. Citizens who win a €50,000 prize in the monthly lottery are excluded from participation in the annual lottery during the same calendar year.

7. Citizens who took part in the state lottery and did not indicate their current bank account are given a period of three months from the day following the date of the draw in order to declare it in AADE (a cash prize will be credited to this account). The accrual of the amount in this case is made without interest, after specifying the payment account.

8. The prize is not taxable, does not represent income, and is not subject to withholding to the government or a third party.
