FSB agent network neutralized in Ukraine, 4 people detained (video)

The Security Service of Ukraine has neutralized the spy network of an elite FSB unit, the coordinator of which was a former MP of the banned Party of Regions.

According to the available information website The SBU, counterintelligence and Security Service investigators have uncovered a four-person spy network in Kyiv, whose activities in Ukraine were coordinated by former people's deputy from the Party of Regions.

As the investigation established, members of the spy network were engaged in intelligence and sabotage work on the territory of Ukraine. It had a hierarchical structure with clearly defined roles. In addition to the curator of the ex-MP, it included: a saboteur, a supplier of explosive devices, and an agent who specialized in external surveillance. In the event of successful completion of enemy tasks, The former MP planned to expand his network and carry out sabotage throughout virtually the entire territory of Ukraine.

It was established that the agents planned to disrupt the logistics of the defense forces a series of explosions on the tracks of Ukrzaliznytsia. In particular, the Russian special service gave them the task of blowing up one of the routes in the Kiev region, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces use to transport equipment and personnel to the front-line regions. The SBU managed to prevent the sabotage.

During the multi-stage special operation, all agents were detained, including the former MP. As the production materials show, another task of the network was collecting data on Ukrainian figures of interest to Russian intelligenceIn particular, the enemy tried to obtain information about the places of residence and visits, daily schedule and social circle of certain individuals – with the aim of further physical elimination of these figures. Among those on whom the Russian special services were preparing a contract killing was Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon.

During the searches, communications equipment and electronic devices with evidence of intelligence and subversive activities in favor of the Russian Federation were found and seized from the detainees. The detainees are in custodyDepending on the crimes committed, they were notified of suspicion under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

• Art. 111 (high treason);
• Art. 113 (sabotage);
• Art. 258 (terrorist act).

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, including comprehensive measures to bring to justice employees of the Counterintelligence Operations Department of the FSB of the Russian Federation, whose identities have already been identified by the Security Service of Ukraine.
