Unprecedented in the number of participants motorcycle gang arranged Raid on Athens' Neo Cosmos District. About 20 criminals took part in the robberies.
Three victims were taken to hospital. According to data EL.AS, first robbery was committed a few minutes after 1 a.m., at the intersection of Ilia Iliou and Franzi Streets (near the Neo Kosmos metro station). About 20 people attacked two citizens passing by, beat them up, and stole their wallets and mobile phones. Immediately after that, the criminals disappeared, and two victims were taken to hospital.
Half an hour later, at the intersection of Irini and Vergina streets, 10 people, also on motorcycles, surrounded a group of four people and took their mobile phone. At the same time, they beat one personThe man was seriously injured and hospitalized. Police are investigating to find and arrest the perpetrators.
Editor's note: It is worth noting that the area of Nea Smyrni square (in the district of the same name) has become increasingly criminalized over the past five years. Young people from different areas of greater Athens and the suburbs come to the square to hang out. Unfortunately, many of them can hardly be called law-abiding citizens. The group that robbed passers-by near the Neos Kosmos metro station is very reminiscent of a similar group that ran out of money for sitting in a cafe on the square, and decided to replenish their budget with robbery.
