In just 1 minute 15 seconds, stand-up comedian Dionysos Azaraqis uses his signature sense of humor to make fun of the unimaginable situation that prevails on Greek organized beaches.
His partner in the sketch, playing the role of the victim, is actor Yannis Katinakis.
The video starts with a man coming to the beach and the manager asking him if he has a reservation for a place and a sun lounger. Seeing the guy's indignation, the manager gets angry: “Who are you to get a sun lounger without a reservation? Poseidon? Aquaman? Seagull Sevach, Pantelis Thalassinos?!”, shouts Dionysos Azarakis, and Yannis Katinakis asks him where he can settle down then. The stand-up comedian replies: “We have sun loungers here, next to the parking lot, that are even cheaper, 60 euros each.”
The outrageous price provokes a reaction from Yannis Katinakis, who asks the manager why it is so expensive, and Azaraqis explains: “Near the parking lot there is a 'view of Ibiza, (i.e. the Seat Ibiza) and the wind is blowing from Ibiza' because someone forgot to turn off the engine and the car is still revving.”
Having “swallowed” a very harsh and unflattering joke, Yannis Katinakis says that he will then spread his towel on the sand, and Dionysos Azaraqis tells him that the price for the minimum consumption (food and drinks) on the beach reaches 50 euros and more.
Four hours after the “vacationer” ordered a Fredo cappuccino and a club sandwich, the waiter arrives. And when Yannis Katinakis sees the bill, he shouts: “For this money you can buy not only a club sandwich, but the club itself (play on words). After the “vacationer” reports that he has nothing to pay with, i.e. not enough money to pay for food and coffee, a “notary” appears who, with a smile, will take the service of transferring the vacationer's property on credit for the invoice presented to him.
And when it turns out that the unfortunate vacationer has no property and lives in a rented apartment, a surgeon appears “on the scene” and says that the debtor can always sell his kidney to get a good price on the black market, and thus pay off the debt.
