Fire in Waribobi area

The fire occurred shortly after 14:10 on Wednesday in the Varibobi area (Northern outskirts of Athens). Vegetation in the area of ​​Tatuai Avenue is reported to be on fire.

Ground and air forces arrived at the scene. According to the fire service, 30 firefighters, 10 vehicles, 1 foot unit, 2 aircraft and 2 helicopters are on the scene.

The fire has caused concern among local residents as the fire front is moving towards the residential sector and is already on the outskirts of Waribobi.

The Waribobi area was almost completely burned during fires in August 2021and now, apparently, dry grass, olive orchards and the rather sparse vegetation that has grown over the past 2 years are burning.
