ΕΛ.ΑΣ. is investigating the cause of death of a 17-year-old schoolgirl in Heraklion, Crete: suicide or accident?
The tragedy occurred on a bridge in the Stalida area, and it is still unknown how and why Nikoleta ended up there after school. The police are considering the possibility of suicide, while an accident has not been ruled out.
There were no signs of tragedy. The girl was preparing to pass the pan-Greek exams and on Thursday, May 23, as usual, she went to school, where she took her final exams in history. However, according to eyewitnesses, after class she did not take the bus, as usual, but left on foot.
The police were called by a passerby on the BOAK (motorway in Crete) who saw the teenager on the bridge. There are reports that tourists passing by also became witnesses.
The police are finding out: perhaps something happened at school and it affected the girl. Teachers and classmates were summoned to testify at the Chersoniss Police Department (Αστυνομικό Τμήμα Χερσονήσου), writes newsbeast.gr.
