The commuter train will have 7 new stations


The new commuter line will be approximately 37 km long and will connect the settlements of Western Attica.

An important project for Attica and especially for its western part began to be implemented at the beginning of this year to ensure faster and more economical movement of passengers, as well as to reduce traffic congestion in the area. Western Attica Suburban will connect Ano Liosia with Megara. The budget is approximately 96 million euros.

The new suburban railway line (from Ano Liosia to Megara) will be built within the existing railway network (the old, obsolete railway line) leading to the Peloponnese. During its operation, the line will serve, among others, Aspropyrgos, Elefsina, Nea Peramos and Megara, connecting the settlements of Western Attica with each other.

7 new stations:

  • ELPE Aspropyrgos,
  • Aspropyrgos,
  • Vamvakias,
  • Elefsina,
  • ELPE Elefsina,
  • Loutropyrgos,
  • Nope Peramos.

The maximum permitted speed will be 80 km/h.
