Greece plans to develop air defense systems modeled after Israel's Iron Dome, capable of protecting the country from threats from the air.
About this how writes eKathimerini, Defense Minister Nikos Dendias said while discussing Israel's recent use of a missile defense system to counter a massive attack by Iranian drones and missiles. The head of the Ministry of Defense said that “the nation must defend itself”:
“Having studied the conflict in Ukraine, we came to the conclusion that it is necessary to build an air defense and counter-drone dome.”
Nikos Dendias acknowledges that developing such infrastructure will take a long time, but noted that the 2030 Agenda has budgetary allocations earmarked for this purpose.
