Crete: salad with… nut instead of seasoning

After opening a portion of salad, a student at the Polytechnic Institute of Chania made a fuss because he discovered a hefty nut inside.

The response to the incident was given by the Directorate for Academic Affairs of the higher educational institution: “We inform you that all necessary actions were taken to investigate the incident and it was established that due to old equipment and vibration of the display shelf intended for finished products, a bolt nut fell into a portion of salad . This isolated incident in no way affects the quality of food provided by the sponsoring company. The Technical University of Crete will begin to take all necessary actions regarding the equipment of the student canteen to ensure that similar incidents do not recur in the future.”
