Athens Digital Arts Festival, the first and largest international digital arts platform in Greece, celebrates two decades of creativity and digital innovation in contemporary art with a special anniversary event, which will take place at iconic venues in the center of Athens. From May 16 to 26, 2024, Πρώην Δικαστήρια Σανταρόζα and Πλατεία Δικαιοσύνης will be a vibrant stage of artistic expression and technological experimentation, which will host the 20th Athens Digital Arts Festival called “TECHNO(S)CENE”.
TECHNO(S)CENE celebrates the rich history of digital art and the festival, while focusing on the future of digital culture. Inspired by concepts such as technocene and technoscience, This year's event explores the profound impact of technology on our lives, recognizing it not just as a tool, but as a pervasive forcewhich shapes our perception and creative expression.
Artists, scientists, technologists and intellectuals from different backgrounds and different generations have created a rich program of immersive experiences in a special space rich in history: the former Santa Rosa Courts and the Plaza de Justice. Here in the 19th century dominated by the explosive sounds of the running machines of the National Printing House, and was a meeting place for Athenian society in the 20th century. Now the place has become a vibrant center of creativity.
