Androulakis filed an application for Tempi to the Supreme Court of Greece

The president of the opposition party PASOK-KINAL, Nikos Androulakis, filed a statement with the prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Greece, Georgia Adilini, about the falsification of audio materials with conversations between drivers O.S.E. on the day of the Tempe railway tragedy.

On his way out of the Supreme Court, Nikos Androulakis spoke about the falsification of audio materials and the attempt to manipulate public opinion to create the impression of human error. N. Androulakis was accompanied by MP Milena Apostolaki, Minister of Justice Christos Kaklamanis and press secretary Thanasis Glavina. Leaving the courthouse, PASOK President said:

“On the night of the tragedy in Tempi, while rescuers were searching for the dead and missing, while the entire Greek society was mourning what happened, some people had priority to gain access to controversial conversation records, hack them and send them to friendly media with the aim of manipulating public opinion.

We have fulfilled our duty to the Greek people, we have submitted a vote of no confidence to parliament in connection with this new revelation, and today we have submitted an application to the prosecutor's office of the Supreme Court to have this matter investigated. It is now the responsibility of the judiciary to do its job.

But they ask us why we put forward a vote of no confidence. Because the cup is overflowing. It is no longer half empty and not half full. One minute they illegally appointed the head of the station in question, and the next they are accused of corruption by the European Prosecutor's Office.

And while they were doing all this, we learn that their priority that night was to falsify and hack records to make it seem like it was just human error. All this suggests that Mr. Mitsotakis's government operates according to the triptych principle: corruption, cover-up and impunity. This vicious circle must be broken.”

Earlier, speaking in the Greek Parliament after the opposition failed to obtain a majority vote for a vote of no confidence, the Prime Minister said: “They made a party banner out of universal suffering to hit the government and me. I was always and everywhere present.” He added that it was time to dispel the myths, taking a sober view of the situation in the face of a suspicious and angry society. Addressing the gallery and relatives of the victims who were watching the proceedings, he said: “I'm looking you straight in the eye: there was never an order to withhold information.”
