IS boasts ‘worst attack in years’ (video)

The Islamic State has published photographs of its terrorists, whose appearance and clothing match the photos of the FSB.

About it writes “Novaya Gazeta Europe”, referring to SITE group and telegram channels. The Islamic State terrorist group issued a statement in connection with the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, calling it “the most brutal attack in recent years.” This message was published by the Amaq agency, close to ISIS, reports the SITE group, which monitors the activity of terrorists on social networks.

According to the published report, three militants opened fire on people in the auditorium, and at that time the fourth was setting the building on fire. The terrorists were armed with machine guns, pistols and Molotov cocktails. Before the attack, they watched the Crocus City Hall building for a long time.

The report claims that Islamic State militants were planning to attack a “large crowd of Christians.” Members of the group emphasized that the terrorist attack was organized because of the war declared by IS by countries fighting Islam. This is reported by accounts involved in the research of jihadist groups, notesin particular, The Jerusalem Post and other media.

A photograph of the attackers was also published. The Insider notesthat the color, cut and print on the clothes of two of the militants from the frame coincide with the clothes of the detainees, about whom the FSB reported. The Brief telegram channel published photographs of the detainees and compared them with the footage distributed by Amaq. Presumably three attackers were identified from the photograph. The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that four suspects in the terrorist attack are foreign citizens.

The White House said it saw no signs of Ukrainian involvement in the armed attack on a concert hall in the Moscow region, during which dozens of people were killed. According to media reports, the United States does not question the involvement of ISIS in the terrorist attack at a concert in the suburbs of Moscow on the evening of March 22 and in advance warned Russia about the threat of such a terrorist attack.

Although US officials have confirmed to several media outlets that ISIS was behind the attack, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) insists the terrorists have ties to Ukraine. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is outraged and categorically denies any accusationswhich began to be heard from Russian officials, of possible involvement in the shooting on March 22 at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Krasnogorsk near Moscow.

Russian lawmaker Alexander Khinshtein said the attackers fled in a Renault car, which was spotted by police in the Bryansk region, about 340 km (210 miles) southwest of Moscow on Friday evening. He said the car chase began after they disobeyed orders to stop.

In his address yesterday, the President of the Russian Federation noted that the terrorists were moving towards Ukraine, where a “window” had allegedly been prepared for them. Two hours before Putin’s speech, Russian Ambassador to Belarus Dmitry Krutoy said that Belarusian security forces helped the Russians cover the “common” border in order to prevent terrorists from leaving, and they succeeded.

Telegram channel “We can explain” writes: Putin doesn’t agree – the terrorists were traveling not to the Ukrainian, but to the Belarusian border. And it was the Belarusian security forces who helped catch them. Putin, in his address to the people, told the FSB version that the terrorists who attacked Crocus tried to hide in Ukraine and were traveling in this direction. There a “window” was supposedly waiting for them to cross the border. In reality, from the reports of Russian and Belarusian officials and the media, as well as from the route itself, a different picture emerges: the terrorists fled towards Belarus. The pro-government TG channel Baza reported at 9 am that a car with alleged terrorists was detained in the Bryansk region in the village of Teply. It is much closer to Belarus – only 43 km from the border – than to Ukraine (118 km).

At 10.25, State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein, close to the Russian Guard, wrote that the terrorists’ car was discovered at night near the village of Khatsun, Karachevsky district, Bryansk region. It is located almost equidistant from the borders with Belarus and Ukraine (166 and 136 km, respectively). Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko was the first state leader whom Putin called this afternoon, discussing the situation with the terrorist attack. Two hours before Putin’s speech, Belarusian Ambassador Dmitry Krutoy said that Belarusian security forces helped the Russians cover the border to prevent terrorists from leaving.

Even the pro-government Brief channel points out: “It is now almost impossible to cross the border with Ukraine. The border is blocked by wire, minefields and sensitive controls. A special regime also applies to border areas. Over the past two years, the FSB has “created a barrier to the passage of the DRG.”

The ISIS-linked agency Amak published a video apparently filmed by one of the terrorists at Crocus City Hall. The video contains brutal footage of people being killed, they are shot at with a machine gun, and one of the wounded has his throat cut. It is claimed to be authentic and from a reliable “terrorist source” – ISIS. The terrorists in the video speak Arabic. Translation: “The infidels will be defeated inshaalah, Allah is great, we are here for the religion of God.” Then captions appear in the frame: “Go, go quickly, carry weapons, kill them, do not be sorry, God is great, the infidels will be defeated.”
