Airbnb is marking a shift in travel trends this spring. Millennials’ choices stand out for their offbeat destinations that appeal to adventurous travelers.
The number of trips to Greece has increased significantly. This spring, the number of nights booked by travelers ages 30 to 39 was up about 28% compared to last year. The data also shows that renting on short-term rental platforms has become a favorite category of users and is the top choice among Greek residents.
Family travel is also on the rise, with the number of spring break travelers from Greece (or without leaving the country) up about 12% from last year. City breaks remain popular among Greek travelers, with European capitals and cultural centers featuring prominently on the list of top destinations, such as Istanbul, Dubai and Frankfurt. The top ten included:
