To celebrate Clean Monday outside the city, 78,631 cars left Attica

The mass exodus of citizens out of town for a three-day weekend on Saturday, 16/03, surprisingly went smoothly.

Traffic increased in the morning, especially at the Athens-Corinthos highway exit, where there were periodic delays (on Athenas Avenue, from Daphne to the refinery, and on the section between Elefsina and Megara).

According to the Attica Traffic Directorate, 95,867 vehicles left Attica between 6 a.m. and 6 a.m. In particular, 53,835 cars traveled along the toll road to Corinth, and 42,041 to Lamia.

In addition, from 6:00 to 18:00, a total of 78,631 vehicles passed through both national networks (44,515 to Corinth and 34,116 to Lamia).

Let us remind you that due to the increased flow of travelers, traffic police services are on increased operational readiness, and measures have been taken throughout the country’s road network to ensure the safe movement of citizens and prevent road accidents.

On Clean Monday (March 18), on which the main flow of citizens is expected to return to Atticafrom 15:00 to 21:00 there will be a ban on the movement (in incoming traffic) of all trucks with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons.
