Meteorologist Sakis Arnautoglu predicts worsening weather: March will bring rain and downpours.

On Tuesday 27 February It will be cloudy in some areas and in the morning on Wednesday 28 February it will rain. But by noon the sun will appear in the sky again.

On Thursday 29 February The weather will begin to deteriorate – a wave of rain will pass from west to east, and in the evening rains are expected throughout mainland Greece. Bad weather will first hit western Greece, where a “laylapa line”, or a long line of storms, will form. It will be rainy until Saturday March 2, then the bad weather will begin to recede.

Over the weekend, the weather will begin to improve from the west, but there will be some instability as the new wave of bad weather will also be quite deep, according to the meteorologist. However, it will be warm.

Meteo.gr National Observatory reports that on Tuesday localized rain is expected in Thessaly, Central and Eastern Sterea, the Peloponnese, the Cyclades and Crete, while there will be rain and storms in the Dodecanese. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies. In some places, the concentration of dust in the atmosphere will increase.
