"Giant" met with "with an inch"

The meeting of the world’s tallest man and the shortest woman was captured by photo reporters.

This happened in California when Sultan Kosen from Turkey, 2 meters 48 centimeters tall, met petite Jyoti Amge from India, who is only 0.62 meters tall. The meeting was recorded by journalists from Turkey’s state news agency Anadolu, The Independent reports.

A testament to the incredible diversity of human body types, 30-year-old Amge poses in one shot while balancing on 41-year-old Kosen’s knee. In another photo, Kosen remains seated in a chair, while Amge, standing on the floor, does not even reach the level of his knees. Kosen holds up one of his huge boots for comparison.

The two unique people, who are separated by a height of more than one and a half meters, previously met at a photo shoot in Egypt six years ago and posed in front of the pyramids of Giza.

The growth of Kosen and Amge is due to health problems. The giant, listed in the Guinness Book of Records, owes his extraordinary height to pituitary gigantism – a rare condition in which too much growth hormone secreted by the pituitary gland enters the child’s body. Pituitary gigantism is usually caused by a tumor, as was the case with Kosen, who began to grow rapidly at the age of 10 years. Treatment for gigantism includes surgery, radiation therapy to the tumor, and medication.

In the case of Amge, an actress who also holds a Guinness World Record, she has achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism mainly caused by a gene mutation or inherited from a parent. Treatment for this condition usually involves addressing the problems associated with the condition, such as monitoring the health of the child’s spine.

Either way, this unlikely pair shared a friendship that resulted in some of the most incredible photos we’ve ever seen.
