Tragedy in Paleo Faliro: a man died from high voltage electric shock

At dawn on Monday 19 February, at approximately 2 o’clock, the Paleo Faliro fire department received a call about explosions in a high voltage transformer.

Arriving at the scene, firefighters discovered dead man on a high voltage pylon. It is assumed that he wanted to steal the ΔΕΔΔΗΕ cables and was electrocuted.

The ΔΕΔΔΗΕ brigade arrived at the scene to, together with the fire department, lower the victim. The lifeless body of a man, whose identity has not yet been established, was handed over to ΕΚΑΒ. It is believed that he had an accomplice who abandoned him when the man was electrocuted.

The area remained without power for several hours and power was restored at approximately 6:30 a.m.
