Island of businessmen and celebrities: "Caribs" one and a half hours drive from Athens

Some islands are a magnet for politicians, businessmen and artists. One such example is an island near Athens, which is still considered “untrodden” and, of course, remains pristinely beautiful.

It is Megalonisos in Petalia Evia that definitely stands out at first glance. And has a special history due to how special its owners and guests were.

Petalia (Πεταλιοί Εύβοιας) is a 40-minute boat ride from Athens, or an hour and a half if you go to Evia first. Actually it’s a small archipelago of islands, where one is more beautiful than the other. It is no coincidence that the area is characterized as the “Caribbean of Greece”. Megalonissos is one of the exotic islands worth diving on. On its western side there is a beautiful and picturesque bay that makes you think that you are on some exotic island abroad.

The crystal clear blue-green water is the main feature that is hard not to appreciate. The stunning images captured by the drone’s camera reveal exactly what is on this exotic island near Athens. Among those inhabited were Megalonisos and Chersonisi, which are the largest islands of the complex. The remaining islands are Avgo, Lamperousa, Louloudi, Makronisi, Pontikonisos, Praso, Tragos and Foudi.
