The targeted financial support for electricity bills, announced on February 12 by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, will affect 730,000 vulnerable consumers.
The assistance covers the first two months of 2024 and is directed to households included in the KOT social tariff, the ministry announced.
Subsidies amount to 26 EUR/MWh in January and 18 EUR/MWh in February for the total consumption of beneficiaries. Thanks to these amounts, 100% of the increase in cost compared to pre-crisis electricity prices is covered, the ministry notes.
The total value of financial support for these households exceeds 8.6 million euros, it is provided by the Energy Transition Fund (Ταμείο Ενεργειακής Μετάβασης), writes CNN Greece.
