The fire services were alerted. There was a need to evacuate three people and rescue them from a car stuck in Rhodes. This happened in the midst of a seriously raging storm that engulfed the island.
Many areas are flooded due to heavy rainfall. Despite the fact that (as is usually the case in Greece) the sewerage system turned out to be “clogged” with garbage. The fire service received dozens of requests to pump out water from basements and houses. Due to raging bad weather, a car with three passengers was stuck in the city of Rhodes, but, fortunately, rescuers managed to rescue them.
According to Rodiaki, heavy hail and heavy hail were recorded at night in Rhodes and especially in the northern part of the island. The damage was caused by a tornado that swept through the “northern triangle of Rhodes” last night, from the Kallithea area to Zephyros. As it became known, a strong tornado uprooted or broke branches of large trees.
Damage was also caused to boats in the Nea Marina area.
