Delicious fish that lowers cholesterol levels

Nutritionists have long recommended including this fish in your diet, as research shows that people who eat it regularly are more likely to stay slim and “protected” from disease.

We are talking about salmon, which combines the nutritional benefits of seafood and river fish. It was not clear which of its ingredients provided health benefits until a Daily Mail study was published.

4 healing ingredients
Researchers at the University of Colorado believe they have identified at least four compounds that may lower bad cholesterol levels.

Cholesterol (ancient Greek χολή “bile” + στερεός “solid”), cholesterol (English cholesterol) – organic compound, natural polycyclic lipophilic alcohol found in the cell membranes of all animals, including humans.

Cholesterol accumulates in blood vessels and damages them, dramatically increasing the risk of stroke and heart attack. Their new study, published in the journal Nutrition, found that Salmon contains at least 30 metabolites – substances produced during digestion.

Four of these metabolites are associated with significant improvements in cardiovascular health. In the study, researchers asked 41 participants aged 30 to 69 to follow a Mediterranean diet that included a variety of fish, lean meats, whole grains, fruits and vegetables.

The experimenters then assessed how healthy the volunteers’ cardiovascular systems were using blood tests and other diagnostics.

Scientists have found that those those who had high levels of these metabolites in the blood had decreased levels of cholesterol, triglycerides and apolipoprotein B – all markers of cardiovascular diseases.
