Aspasia Bogri, a victim of her father’s revenge on his wife (video)

Eleven years old Aspasia Bogri, who was shot by her father to take revenge on his wife, remains bedridden and 99% disabled. She turned 28 on January 26…

Her father shot her in the head that fateful day, his daughter was only seventeen. Spiridula Faturu, her mother, writes on her daughter’s birthday:

28 years ago God blessed me to become your mother! 28 years later he still blesses me by keeping you by my side! For 28 years you have been teaching morality, dignity, faith and strength, which I am proud of… For 28 years you have not stopped smiling, making us people better… For 28 years I bow to you, because you are my angel… Happy Day birth, health and always God’s blessing, my only daughter! Happy birthday, Aspasia, my heart!!!

On that hot August day, the life of Aspasia Bogri from Argos changed forever. She could not even imagine that her parents’ disagreements would turn her into someone who would never have the same life. Aspasia met her father for lunch and shortly before they parted, she went to a kiosk to buy cigarettes for her mother. Her father approached her, said “I love you very much,” and shot his daughter in the head. He then turned the gun on himself. After spending several days in the intensive care unit of Tsanios Hospital, the man died.

At the 47-year-old businessman’s home, authorities found a handwritten letter addressed to his wife at the time. He blamed her for the divorce:

“I will kill our daughter so that she does not become like you. I should kill you, but since you will live with the guilt of her death, it will be better.”

Aspasia won the battle for life, but is doomed to live bedridden, since she is 99% disabled. The girl spent four years in a rehabilitation center in Larisa, then she was discharged home. Her mother says:

“Everything new takes time to get used to. This is not an easy decision. Oddly enough, during the 3.5 years of Aspasia’s stay in the rehabilitation center, the whole world became her friends. This was her home. It was necessary for her socialization. Aspasia does not walk, does not speak, does not move. If I don’t turn her over on the bed, she will never do it herself, she will remain in the same position. If I don’t feed her, she will never eat. I’m not in the sky. She wants to be close to her friends, go out more, get strong incentives that will help her in her fight for rehabilitation.”
