Konstantinos Polychronopoulos, the head/organizer of the social kitchen “The Other Man” (“Ο Άλλος Άνθρωπος”), is currently under the control of law enforcement agencies for fraud and money laundering. The man is accused of creating a criminal group together with members of his family, receiving about 600,000 euros.
In particular, Mr. Polychronopoulos told the Alpha channel about the charges that he faces for money laundering, which is also stated in an article in the Sunday newspaper “Πρώτο Θέμα”.
Since 2020, Konstantinos Polychronopoulos, together with his relative and accomplice, has formed a criminal organization, enriching himself with approximately 600,000 euros. According to the inspectors money from donations went to the accounts of his relatives, and from there they were transferred to gambling companies, and cash was also withdrawn. The opinion states, among other things: “We order the freezing of all property, in particular any accounts, securities, investment items or financial papers.”
“Ο Άλλος Άνθρωπος” – uhIt is a self-governing group, a social solidarity initiative, launched in 2011 in Athens. The Other Man team cooks in public places in Athens and the rest of Greece, focusing on its existing premises at 109 M. Alexandrou Street in Metaxourgio.
Mr Polychronopoulos is currently in Patras for the carnival. “Where does this figure come from (600,000)? In the last two or three years alone, the amount has exceeded 1,500,000. The food we have distributed alone is 18 million servings. Calculate how much money we “earned,” among other things, the accused told journalists of the Alpha channel. “I am not a gambler and never gamble. I have a friend who used to go to the cash register and get cash. Two or three times. All this was for “The Other Man,” noted Konstantinos Polychronopoulos. “If I am, as they say, money laundering, come and arrest me. I’m not hiding from anyone,” he concluded.
