Ombudsman: "There are no signs that so many people were on board the Il-76" (video)

Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets said there was no indication that there were so many people on the Il-76. The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Ukraine.

He noted that Ukraine has not yet seen any signs that the Il-76 military aircraft, which crashed Yesterday in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, there were a large number of prisoners of war, as stated by the Russian Ministry of Defense. When asked if it was known who was on the plane, he replied:

“No, it is unknown. According to my information, I cannot say affirmatively that there really were prisoners of war there. Based on the analysis of the photos and videos that we saw on the network, if there were bodies there – again, I’m not an expert – but if “The Russians had some photos or videos that our prisoners of war were there, then they would have already used them. We did not see any signs that there were so many people on the plane – citizens of Ukraine, or non-citizens of Ukraine.”

He added, writes “UP” that he saw maps and expert opinions that this plane landed, loaded with something else and flew away:

“That is, he had a reverse flight direction from this airfield. Experts should understand this. In our opinion, these should be international experts who should clearly say what happened there.”

Lubinets called on people to remember that the war continues, and that “it was a military plane, and it is clear how our Armed Forces should act – to do everything so that our state survives and wins.”
