Shocking low birth rate data: Greece is dying and the government is looking for foreigners to replace the Greeks

On the sidelines of the Economist conference in Kavouri, shocking demographic data were released, according to which the population of Greece will decrease by 1,500,000 people in the next 25 years!

And the reduction of those under 65 years of age will reach 1,800,000 people! In other words, the number of young people will decrease sharply.

The number of births registered in 2023 also raises concerns for the future of our country.

This is estimated to be the lowest number on record! Over the past 91 years, since 1932, compared to the birth rate in 2023, the number of births has decreased by 23,000!

In particular, the number of newborns is 72,244, but it is expected that these figures will be officially clarified by the registry office and the civil service ELSTAT.

In previous years, ELASTAT registered:

• 92,898 births in 2016
• 88,533 births in 2017
• 86,440 births in 2018
• 83,756 births in 2019
• 84,764 births in 2020
• 85,346 births in 2021
• 76,095 births in 2022

Another shocking number: Fertility rate has dropped below 1.5% since ’87. This means that per woman of childbearing age there is less than 1.5 children.

The relevance of demographic pressure was emphasized at the conference by Sofia Zacharaki, Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, commenting on the data obtained.

“Greece is experiencing a rapid increase in mortality and a sharp decline in birth rates. In this regard, public consultations have been ongoing for six months in order to collect proposals for a pragmatic solution to the demographic problem. First of all, we are talking about stabilizing the birth rate.”she said, but her government has so far done nothing to turn the tide.

Road to nowhere

The numbers should worry the country’s leaders, but instead they are looking for ways to legally bring more foreigners into the country to work on farms and to “legalize” those who are already in the country illegally.

Keeping economic migrants in the country with a work visa, which can be taken away within 5 minutes, for any reason, as the main labor force, is of course cheaper and more profitable than stimulating the birth rate of its own citizens.

Also puzzling is the passionate desire of the Greek leadership, against the backdrop of a declining birth rate, to legalize LGBT marriages and the adoption of children by LGBT couples.

Everyone understands perfectly well that such a “passionate” desire is actively stimulated from Brussels, where they started comparing Mitsotakis with Orbanas well as from Washington, on the part of the main creditors, with which Greece, as the country with the largest debt in relation to GDP in the ECU, simply cannot but be taken into account.
