"Ukraine has enough resources to survive this war" (video)

The war in Ukraine will continue in 2025: Rada deputies may be deprived of their mobilization protection, but restrictions will remain in place for draft dodgers.

How tells BB.LV, NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Joan (Romania) predicts that the war in Ukraine will not end in 2024 or 2025, but he is confident: “Ukraine has enough resources to withstand this war.”

The Ukrainian channel RBC, citing sources, writes that deputies may be deprived of protection from mobilization, but restrictions will remain for draft dodgers. The publication quotes a deputy from Servant of the People:

“It is clear that we need to expand the base of those mobilized. But how to do this without punitive measures for draft dodgers is unclear. Obviously, we will remove reservations for deputies, officials, etc., to show that everyone is equal. There is little practical sense in this, but Otherwise people won’t understand.”

However, not all service in the country’s defense is limited to the front, the publication notes. Carpathian residents, for example, are invited to work in the Donetsk region in the construction of fortifications. For this, the Ivano-Frankivsk OVA guarantees a deferment from mobilization for the entire construction period. The salary will be 20,000 hryvnia, people are promised to be provided with housing and food. In total we need to find 300 people. Mircea Joana says:

“I urge us not to fall into the other direction of exaggerated pessimism, because Ukraine has enough resources to withstand this war, to be successful… We do not see on both sides the military potential that would allow us to achieve a decisive victory one way or another. We expect a protracted war with small offensives, counter-offensives, territory gained and lost.”

He stressed that NATO expects Ukraine to get back on its feet, Moldova to join Europe, and Georgia to join the Euro-Atlantic community.
