From Prince to God: trailer for a new film about the life of Alexander the Great

Netflix has presented the first trailer for its new documentary film “Alexander the Great: The Birth of God.” Over the course of six episodes, it will tell the viewer about the greatest conqueror Alexander the Great.

The series follows how a young general’s obsession with defeating the powerful Persian Emperor Darius led him to conquer the entire known world in six years. Which ultimately contributed to the fact that Alexander from a warrior prince became the embodiment of a living god.

The history shown in the series will be intertwined with the scientific work of experts, new knowledge in archeology, taking into account the ongoing excavations in Alexandria.

Starring: actor Buck Braithwaite as Alexander and O Mido Hamada as King Darius. The series also speculates on intimate details of Alexander’s personal life, including his relationship with his childhood friend Hephaestion. (Will Stevens). The documentary is produced by Tailfeather Productions in association with Lion TV and their executive producers Lucy Van Beek and Nick Catliffe. The series will premiere worldwide on Netflix on January 31.

Alexander the Great, King of Macedonia, was one of the most successful commanders in history. His achievements are numerous and profound, the most significant of which was the conquest of the Persian Empire, the largest empire of that time. He defeated the Persian king Darius III and seized control of vast territories stretching from the Balkans to modern-day Pakistan.

Alexander’s conquests led to the spread of Greek culture and language throughout his empire, leading to the Hellenistic era. During this period, there was a mixture of Greek, Persian, Egyptian and Indian cultures, which had a huge impact on art, architecture and literature. Alexander founded more than 20 cities, the most famous of which was Alexandria in Egypt, which became a major center of education and culture in the ancient world.

Alexander died at the young age of 32, leaving behind an empire spanning three continents and a legacy that would profoundly influence the course of Western civilization.

A film about his life was made in 2004 called Alexander, directed by Oliver Stone and starring Colin Farrell, along with Angelina Jolie, Anthony Hopkins and Jared Leto.
