A new intercity bus station will open in Eleonas


In the next couple of years, two KTEL stations, in Liosios and Kifissos, will close as the Central Intercity Bus Station (KSYL) is opened.

The total budget of the project is 100 million euros and once completed (expected to take 2 years) will serve more than 40,000 passengers daily. The complex is planned to be built on a land plot of 66,420 m2. in the Eleonas area, surrounded by the lanes L. Kifisos, Iera Odos and Ag. Anna and Pieria.

The basis of a multifunctional complex KSYL Eleonas will consist of 4 buildings, which, among other things, will house a bus parking lot, as well as exhibition areas, a hotel, a conference center, etc.

Indoors KSYL It will also house: a passenger waiting room, ticket offices, luggage storage, an issue office, storage of unaccompanied luggage and items, administration premises, a gas station for buses, a laundry and a repair shop. KSYL buses will enter through Kastorias Street, and for buses that will ply along the route, there will be two-level parking. The total number of places will be 70, and they will be distributed over two floors of building A.

At the same time, the new station in Eleonas will function as interchange hub, since, among other things, it will be adjacent to the Eleon metro station and the city bus station OASA and taxi parking.

There are plans to upgrade the adjacent road network. Improvement in land use/activities in the station area is also expected. In addition, the territory will be landscaped, with ornamental vegetation covering at least 30% of the site area.
