Masks are returning indoors – concern over rising coronavirus outbreaks


The meeting of the expert committee on the issue has ended re-introducing the mask regime in hospitals and institutions for people with health problems.

After an increase in the number of cases coronavirus and fluregistered in recent weeks, experts have begun to become concerned. It should be noted that scientists are concerned low turnout for the updated vaccinesince only every tenth representative vulnerable groups received it.

Finally, there is a recommendation on the widespread use of masks in medical institutions. This is expected to be decided by hospital infection control committees who, based on the data they have (cases, hospitalizations, etc.), will decide whether masks should be mandatory.

Vaccination guidelines and reminders for groups eligible to receive the updated COVID-19 vaccine will be released in the coming days. Finally, the scientists also emphasized the need for an information campaign for physicians on the use of antiviral drugs that prevent severe COVID-19 disease, hospitalization, intubation, and death.

Disease outbreak

The recent outbreak of viral diseases, particularly seasonal influenza and coronavirus, is of widespread concern. According to EODY, on Wednesday, December 27, 128 free sample testing events were conducted at central locations in 61 regional districts of the country, during which 9,259 rapid tests were conducted and 1,625 positive cases (17.55%) were identified. Of these, 831 were men and 794 women, with an average age of 57 years.
