Taste Atlas: Greek "bugatsa" took 4th place among the “best breakfasts in the world”

Taking second place in the ranking of the “top” cuisines of the planet according to Taste Atlas, Greece received another award for bougatsa.

In the category “Best Breakfast in the World for 2023,” Bugatsa takes fourth place with a rating of 4.58. “Bougatsa is a traditional, rustic Greek pie consisting of a sheet of dough with a semolina cream filling. Although there are options with minced meat or cheese. The name of the dish comes from the Ottoman word “pogaca” (πογάτσα), which means “cheese pie,” experts say.

Bugatsa originated in the Byzantine period, when Constantinople was Greek, and was originally a dough with a variety of sweet and savory fillings.
