Germany has taken the initiative to introduce a tax of solidarity with Ukraine.

“Ultimately, this war is about our security. It is better to act now than when Russian aggression unexpectedly requires completely different measures.”
The Free Democratic Party, which is part of the “traffic light coalition” ruling in Germany, promised not to allow any tax increases in Germany, much less the introduction of new ones. The coalition leaders have already guaranteed large-scale assistance to Ukraine in repelling Russian aggression. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said: “This assistance will be financed from the regular budget – just as we planned and for as long as necessary.”
